How do I get rid of spam email?

I accidently pushed the wrong button on one of those surveys for free $25.00 dollar gift cards and when I tried to get out of it it would not let me. Now I get about 500 spam emails every day that I can not stand. How do I get my email off of their lists? When I tried to unsubscibe to some of them it does not go thru and most do not have one. I can not change my email address because I have had this one for such a long time and I am about ready to pull my hair out. Is there some website that you can go to to completely remove your email from any of those lists brokers spam email mass mailings? Any help would be appreciated, and if you are a lists broker get another job and stop annoying people with your supposed free stuff. Thanks

You should never open the emails and unsubscribe that just let's them know that the email account is active and then the just start sending more and more emails using different addresses. The best thing to do is not open them. Then mark them as spam. You can go to email options and somewhere there you'll have the option to send identified spam directly to a spam folder. Yahoo kinda sucks at filtering spam. I still get spam but the majority goes to the spam folder. Hotmail has a very good spam filter if you were looking to switch over.

Reply:you can configure an anti-spam tool like spambayes to block spam. This tool lets you train it on wahat is good and bad. It looks for addresses and key words like trip or enzyte or viagra and filters them in to a junk suspects folder so you can go through and train more thouroughly
Reply:I don't think this is possible. If the emails always come from the same source then simply block this source. Howevers spammers share lists so you'll possibly have to change your address. Maybe you can ask the website (via email) to unscribe but i think that it is already too late
