I made a 45 sec. movie from my camera in avi file. It is 50mb. How do I convert to mpeg to reduce it for email

I can't convert it to another format, when I download from my card, it takes too much space and I can't sent as email attachement. How do I convert it to another format more suitable for email attachement?

Reply:I dont think you can do that... I mean you can change it to mpeg format but I dont think it will make much difference... Try this software any way.. its called CUCUSOFT... you can download the trial version of it off internet... This time check the settings on the camera for a lesser file size options....

all the best...
Reply:there are many free programs out there that can convert almost any file to almost anything you want. try download.com and search for video file converter

the better ones will let you choose the quality, frame rate, and other things that will make it a smaller file size

OR

you could try to zip the file using WinZip, I dont think it will go down to 2 mb though
Reply:Typically an mpeg is larger than an avi file, but it would depend on how much compression is used I guess. But an avi is already compressed. Other formats I would consider are .wmv (Windows Media) or .mov (Quicktime). You can search for conversion tools here:
