Do you send Christmas or holiday cards?

or have you gone completely digital (i.e. email, on-line cards etc)?

And have the number of real cards you receive in the mail gone down over the years?

Do you send Christmas or holiday cards?
I send both. I send digital to people that I could actually see in person and wish a Merry Christmas too if I have their address. However the people that I won't see or be able to Wish a Merry Christmas I send a old fashion christmas snail mail card to.

Have the decreased....nope.
Reply:Unfortunately we don't have an efficient postal system in our country so sending physical cards is pretty much impossible. This is such a pity as I have not been able to send cards for a few years now and I therefore don't receive cards. Haven't received a card now for about five years.

I now only send Christmas messages via the internet, which makes it all so impersonal. The only good thing is that I am not wasting paper and polluting the environment with delivery vehicles.
Reply:I never send digital cards. I still do it the old fashion way. Every year, I send out approximately 40 Christmas cards. Sure e-cards saves you so much money, are fast and efficient, but I find that they can be so impersonal. Sending real cards say that you took time to write to each and every individual.
Reply:I still love mailing cards
Reply:I always send out Christmas cards in the mail. I enjoy keeping in touch with people through email but there's nothing like getting a Chrsitmas card in the mail! I know that our family still receives about the same number of cards in the mail every year.
Reply:We usually send Christmas cards although, sending holiday cards would be more welcome to certain people. I don't like sending digital cards and i always plan on sending real cards no matter how slow our post is *cough*. Over the years i believe the cards have stayed about the same, but now they get more high tech, instead of just a template from Costco, people are photo shopping collages of pictures together
Reply:I send out Christmas cards. The holiday I am celebrating is Christmas and I'm proud to say the word.

Yes, the number of cards that I have received has gone down over the years...I'm not sure why though...

(((hugs)))
Reply:I send out CHRISTMAS cards. I never send digital cards, ever.

The amount I receive has increased for me.
Reply:I used to be meticulous about sending cards, but not so much anymore. There are a few on my list, but not many. Over the years, I found that only about 10% of people send cards to me, so I decided not to stress about it.

Is anyone else getting tired of companies charging their credit cards without giving any notice?

In the last week I have had two different companies renew subscriptions without even giving me a warning that it was due. All the company says is "it was in your terms of service". I understand that, but how hard would it be for them to send an email before they renewed? I think it is just a way for them to get your money and hope you don't notice it.

Is anyone else getting tired of companies charging their credit cards without giving any notice?
Thats exactly what it is - a sneaky though legal way to bury the automatic renewal in the "fine print." The answer is to be very careful what you subscribe to and make sure the "unsubscribe" procedures are clear before you enter that card number.
Reply:YES!
Reply:sorry it is good business!!!
Reply:They don't have to because it says in your contract they can automatically renew. If you don't like it cancel it before they charge you! You are the only one keeping track of those things.

Do you still get and send Christmas cards?

This morning I received the first card I've had since Christmas 2001 ! What a lovely surprise !! From a caring and kind Canadian dragon, a special person (I know we arent allowed to post names)

My relatives in Norway used to send beautiful cards, now they email - and I realized I dont even have addresses anymore for them, or for any of my friends. Just email addresses.

I know everyone is busy at this time of the year, but I think our society has lost something meaningful. I know my friend in Washington spends a lot of time picking out her email card, and she even buys them ! Most of us make do with the free ones, and its nice to get them too, but its still not the same is it?

Do you still get and send Christmas cards?
Yes, I still get and send Christmas cards, as well as other types of cards throughout the year. I also get cards still, it's always very special to go to the mail box and have a card or letter there from a loved one. We also exchange cards at church, so I get several and hang them on the wall. We put the presents under these and take pics on the years I don't decorate, when we're going to be away for the holidays.

I agree that although e-cards are a nice thought, they aren't the same. Also sometimes when you send them they keep sending advertisements afterwards.

Hope your holiday season is wonderful!
Reply:When postage stamps got so spendy we shortened our list considerably. Still send out to close friends we dont see often and family.
Reply:Yes still receive and send cards to those special in my life. I am upset by the very wealthy that say they donate the cost of cards and stamps to charity. B.S.
Reply:I still receive a few.Funny thing,I filled out mine today. My list is smaller this year.I was taught to send them to people you love and respect????Funny I got to figuring,I never get a card from them so save my money.I did put it in their last card.Just said"If I fail to hear from you after this card,i will not bother you again".I meant every word too...
Reply:We still get some, still send a few. Most to friends are e-cards. Postage just costs too much.
Reply:I do both usually - e cards and snail mail paper cards. This year may be different as postage is higher and I am poorer! lol

I like getting snail mail cards and I decorate with them but I also appreciate the ecards people take the time to send.
Reply:yes i love getting and sending out cards each year.i don't do the e-mail thing because 99 percent of my friends and family don't have a computer.i just got a card today from my oldest cousin who lives in Michigan.i enjoy the pretty cards,we are almost shut in because i cant drive much eny more and Hubie is blind so a nice card is something i look forward to.we get about 6 or 7 .i wish i got 100.
Reply:I send about 25-30 cards a year to the folks that I have mailing addresses for. Then if I only have their email address, they just get the e-card. I would much rather send a card through mail than email them.

I get about 5-8 cards a year sent to me through the mail and about 15 or so e-cards.

I love the cards that I get through the mail cause I can hang those to where not only I can see them but my company can too. You sure can't hang up your e-cards for all to see.
Reply:We usually get a few. Don't send many except online.
Reply:Very, very few. Since I make cards, I will make a few for close girlfriends and hand it to them when I see them. I mail about ten. Yes, postage is an issue. Of course, there are people, like former co-workers that I only hear from at this time of year. I would like to keep up that relationship even if is only once a year.
Reply:I send cards out every year I like to do that and keep in touch with Aunts and Uncles on both sides of the family. I send out letters to my grandchildren from "Santa" I really have a good time with those! I send out two different kind of cards, one set for our family and Harley cards to our Harley motorcycle friends!
Reply:I usually get four or five cards. One from my chiropractor, one from my doctor, and two or three from my son and a couple of friends. My dog always got one from her vet. My dog is gone now. I send out three or four. I didn't have e-mail last Christmas so I don't know yet if they will change to e-mail cards.

I can remember sending and receiving thirty to forty cards every year. I'm glad I don't have to do that anymore. I do make phone calls at holidays.
Reply:My first Christmas card every year is from a friend in California. It arrives on Thanksgiving weekend, never fail. I just mailed out mine yesterday, the earliest I have ever done. I love sending and receiving cards and notes from my friends and family.
Reply:Still get and send quite a few cards. No Emails for holidays or birthdays.
Reply:I still send many cards, and enclose letters and photographs. Mostly to old pals that I don't see too often, and family overseas. I receive a lot too, and I love them. Its my favourite part of Christmas.
Reply:Yes, to immediate family (wife takes care of hers), a preacher friend in Sicily, a friend in Ghana, my present Sunday school kids, a few old shipmates.
Reply:Sadly I send fewer cards, due to the cost of postage and less

family and friends I used to hear from and don't now.

I've always enjoyed the tradition of sending and receiving cards all these years and I love to tape them to a door to look them over sometimes. Now I only get a little over a dozen. And I used to send out three boxes, when my husband was working in sales. And when I sold Avon, I always remembered my customers. But those were put into the order sacks, and they didn't require postage. I hate to see another tradition bite the dust.

I used to think that sending a card, was a little gift of friendship I was passing along. There have been so many lost traditions as family members have passed away. I guess there comes a time when new traditions should be begun. I'm thinking about it. As I need to revive the 'spirit' that I used to

overflow with this time of year. I used to have the money and

the time to shop for quality gifts, and would be so excited for

everyone to open what I'd given them. And now I lack the

excitement as I can't afford the 'nicer' gifts that I would enjoy

receiving myself.

But I'll continue to send cards as long as I can still hold a pen

to write with. I find from spending so much time on a keyboard, that my hand has forgotten how to use a pen, and

still write legibly LOL. I thought the other day, it was old age,

but it's just the lack of circulation LOL. I need to limber my

fingers up to actually hold a pen and write a straight line.
Reply:Even tho' I'm Jewish I still buy cards for my Christian friends who in turn send me Hanukkah cards - the two holidays are usually pretty close together! But unfortunately, a lot of my friends are not with us any more and my list of names and addresses is dwindling very fast. Sad - - - - but true! CJ
Reply:my idea of Christmas card goes something like this:

Year one: Buy the cards

Year two: Sign the cards

Year three: Address the cards

Year four: prepare to send the card, take them to the post office, then realize that you have changed partners since year two when you signed them ___ and ____....so it is back to step one and start all over again.
Reply:Still many cards...I finally got a PC, but most older friends still don't have one!! In addition, now many E-mails for 'new' friends... That's good!!......Merry Christmas to All!!!!

Online surveys that reward you with online gift cards?

are there any surveys where they can just send you gift cards online like to your email instead of sending cash/check or something else to your home? i don't like giving away my address.

thanks.

Online surveys that reward you with online gift cards?
i dont think there is one that rewards you via the internet.

here's one that i use: www.utalkback.com

you have to enter address though...
Reply:Yes, there are paid survey sites/companies pay cash via Paypal, or amazon gift certificates. Check out http://www.MySurvey123.com - they have a FREE list of over 100 legitimate paid survey sites, they also tell you the payment options such as cash via Paypal/check, or gift certificates/cards etc..
Reply:I've done surveys for a long time and I created a whole blog about FREE surveys. I posted tutorial videos, proof of payment (checks but I have sites that give gift certificates), legit survey sites, and contact info if you want more guidance or have questions.

Reply:I have not personally ran across one that didn't ask for your home address, at least that I can remember. That being said, there is nothing wrong with giving your address to the legit companies, it's no different than giving it to an employer of some kind. Just never sign up for a site that asks you for money, there is never any reason for you to have to pay to take a paid survey. I recently started a blog to help others find legit sites that I've used over the years, you can check it out here if you want:

http://surveys.informerbot.com
Reply:1. WelI I actually take surveys for cash. And yes they do pay as long as you know the good ones. I have some free survey sites that are very reliable just check out my profile by clicking my name or email me for them. I only give sites that I've been paid by so you won't get scammed. They're all reliable and I've never had a problem with them. (I've been doing them for a year now) The best part is that anyone can do them and they're easy. You won't get rich but they definitely help with bills :)

2. Btw a lot of the ones above are spammers and I wouldn't trust them

How can I find out my mom's email address without her knowing?

I want to send my mom an e-card for Christmas,(we haven't spoken in years), but I don't know her email address. Is there any way for me to get it somehow without her knowing, so I can just surprise her with the card??

How can I find out my mom's email address without her knowing?
You could try searching on People Search through Yahoo...

http://people.yahoo.com

I think they only have Yahoo e-mail addresses though.

Good luck!!
Reply:People search, classmates.com if she is registered, or type her name in google to see if an email addy shows up-if she has posted on message boards ect. you have a chance. Is she a buyer or seller on ebay? Go to advanced search and see what you come up with. The best result may be to ask a good friend in confidence.
Reply:not unless you ask her....
Reply:Do you have a relative or friend who has her e-mail? If you can't find her e-mail and really want to make contact, consider calling her or sending a card thru regular mail.

Can you look for someone by their email address?

A friend's credit card got stolen and the person used it online using him email address. How can I find out who it is?

Can you look for someone by their email address?
You can use Yahoo! People, 411, Zabasearch, etc.
Reply:Contact the police or you cardit card company and they will take care of the issue.

Leave this issue to the officials for best result.
Reply:Call your bank and report the fraud. It may be possible to get your money back, and probably to trace the thief.

Reply:Your purchase from amazon.com and that email is likely just coincidence. Credit card scams are usually 'phishing' scams, spammers trying to get your personal confidential information. The best policy to follow is to NEVER open emails from anyone you don't know and trust. NEVER.
Reply:A scam is a scam, although the kind of email you describe sounds like it's from an ID thief. It's unlikely that it has anything to do with your order from amazon.

I get emails like it all the time. ID thieves send emails like these to millions of people.

Don't respond to these emails at all. And if you're not sure if an email is scam or not, well, it probably is. Trust your gut. If your gut says, "This looks suspicious," that's all the confirmation you need. Always trust your gut.

Something I highly recommend is reporting email scams (or suspicious-looking emails) to the Internet FBI. Their website is http://www.ic3.gov/

Click on "file a complaint." Their "frequently asked questions" link will take you to a page with lots of information about how your complaint is processed.

Remember, the Internet FBI is on your side. They will protect your privacy. I've forwarded spam emails to them before, and I have no clue what happened as a result. I never followed up and tried to find out.

Reporting scammers is a way to empower yourself.

I've been tempted a few times to send a reply back to a scammer saying, "I just reported you to the Internet FBI!" But I didn't. Doing so would only let the scammer know that my email address is good.

My credit cards been charged before being verified?

Ive placed an order but my credit card needs verification, since i'm using an international credit card, I've recieved an email asking me to fax copies of Id's and other details and it says that if i dont respond within 5 days the order will be cancelled and i will not be charged, but I've already been charged, before verification

My credit cards been charged before being verified?
They should have a customer service number. Call. Make sure the company you are buying from is legit. The kind of information they seem to require could be used to steal your identity. Now, if they are legit and you don't verify, the money should be refunded. That would be a point to talk to your credit card company as well.

How could I receive spam emails from myself (my own email address)?

I receive emails originating from myself or my own email address. How is that possible? I also receive emails from email addresses that closely resemble some of the passwords I use on my accounts at different websites. Is my identity at serious risk? Should I be getting new credit cards and changing all of my passwords? How often should I change my password for example for my Yahoo account.

How could I receive spam emails from myself (my own email address)?
Yeah I get the same thing. But It's a trick the spammers do to get you to open it. You might think to your self wow I really sent that and click it and bam a keylogger or a tracker gets on to your computer. It's not by your account cause if you look at your sent mail you wont' see it there.

These spammers get real smart though.

About the passwords in the spam you get, If you use rare passwordslike asldkf;laks18883 then worry cause you might have a tracker or keylogger and they see what you type or go so they will send something that appeals to you so you will open that shiet. Best thing to do is reset all your really important passwords and delete the spam mail.
Reply:well u have too many questions on which i might have no answers, but one thing i can tell u, i received mail from my mail ID, :P weird thing, but it seems that everythings possible. n i dont think any1 knows ur passwords, its just ppl who sent those mails try to write "nice" IDs to attract ur attention. just delete it without reading

Does Yahoo mail still have an email card service for special occasions? They used to, but I cannot find link?

Yes, it's called "Greetings". If you don't see it in your yahoo toolbar, click on the %26gt;%26gt; at the end to see if it is in the drop down box.

If it's not there, click on the pencil in the yahoo toolbar and edit your preferences. Add the "Greeting" to you list of toolbar items.

How to find out somebodies name by their email address?

Somebody used my debit card to by some software and they used their email to register it. I know the email so is there anyway to find out their name? Its yahoo email.

How to find out somebodies name by their email address?
try reverse look up, i heard it works
Reply:basing on what you have written here, it is unbelievable that someone may used your debit card and that you found out that it's yahoo email they used during registration. if ever one has used your debit card, the card company will send you the details/statement of the bill, hence, you can make/file a claim to your card company that you did not use it personally and that someone had used it without your permission or knowledge. upon filing a claim, the card company will make an investigation right away to prove your innocense, and will return that payment deducted from your savings account. this will take 3~6months depending on how speedy your card company will act upon your request.

*i had a credit card (visa) that was billed by a website (...travel.com) which i haven't used it. the statement of bill arrived at my door. before making a complaint, i digged up all my memo's, diary, schedule, etc just to ensure if i'm mistaken to use it by myself. but the date that was stated on the bill, was the date that i was at home %26amp; never gone out of the country. hence, i filed a complaint. it was a long battle for me, the website, and the card company. but i won and was given the repayment %26amp; then they changed/reissued me another credit card number.
Reply:There is also another way to find Emails, if you AND they have Skype and has an excellent email search facility..

You can message me the email address if you dont want to install Skype and i will seasrch for you:)
Reply:why don't you report them to yahoo officially, and the police may be able to trace to the house where the ip address originated from, your bank will be able to help i believe.

you may try and search within messenger to see if they are there. i don't believe that is the regular e-mail address though.

Would you send your credit card info by email?

i got an email from a canadian recruitement firm specializing in exports management firm for foreign student?

they are asking me for credit card details for charging 67 euros , they sound legitimate but somehow the details asking sounds scary should I send it over, i am desparatly looking for job, and they might be bale to help me out?

they are - placements impact ltd in canada

Would you send your credit card info by email?
Most of the "firms" that charge job applicants are scams.

There are very few industries where the applicant pays for the job search, and you should never pay to have your application submitted to just one company, or industry. If the recruitement firm was legitimate, the company would pay them to find a new hire.

Have they given you an itemized list of what your money is paying for? Or just vague promises like "we will get your resume into the hands of hundreds of hiring managers". Because you can already do that for free at Monster.

Good luck
Reply:I have a bridge in New York I can sell you. You can charge tolls for every vehicle that wants over. I just need your credit card number and security code for the transaction. My Swiss account number is : 1234Iscrewyou567.

Dude, it's a scam-an old one. Never, ever respond to email solicitors. Contact a local recruitment firm to find one in Canada if your own job searches prove fruitless.

Never respond to emails about lotteries you have won, money you have inherited, need for account info from you bank or credit card company or any businesses you do business with,etc... They are all scams. They work on the young and old, rich, poor, smart and stupid. There was an article in the Money about the rich, smart and famous getting scammed out of millions. Don't think for a second you are to smart and savvy to get gypped.
Reply:Maybe you can try other alternative to pay them?I don't think it's safe at all.
Reply:NO!!!
Reply:Absolutely not.

Email is NOT secure. Even if the company is legit (which is doubtful), someone could intercept the email and then use your credit card.

Im not paranoid, I just know this for a fact because I got busted for copyright infringement and piracy a few years ago from using them for P2P connections. Also, make sure you check all the hidden files those programs leave behind. When you download using them it places multiple copies of the files into other folders you dont know about. Thats how it got me. Just thought you shold know.

I want to follow up w/person I met at conference just to keep in touch; should I use my work or personal email

We exchanged business cards, I'm not currently looking to leave my job, but I would want to entertain that possibility in the future and work for this person's company. Should I use my work email? And if so, what do I write? Is a card better? Should I wait until the holidays and send a greeting card instead?

I want to follow up w/person I met at conference just to keep in touch; should I use my work or personal email
Use your business account and just say that you enjoyed getting to talk to them at the conference and try to think of a question so that they answer back. Ask something about business--something specific to your industry or his opinion about something. And sure, send a greeting card at the holidays to keep this person aware of you. There isn't a conflict of interest b/c you aren't soliciting a job.
Reply:you use your personal email - first because you are conducting personal business and it should be done on your time not the company. start out slow and show interest -- might even try asking a few gereral questions about his company and workplace.
Reply:Personally i would use work email. You met in the work environment, so carry on your relationship as an associates relationship. If you send something from a personal email they might feel that it's somewhat inappropriate.

Use works email initially, if a friendship develops outside of the work environment, then i would probably change to personal email.

Where do I send an email to complain about a horrible stay at Valley West Inn, West Des Moines, IA?

My husband, daughter, two grandsons age 4 and 5 booked two nights at Valley West Inn, and had a dangerous thing happened in the swimming pool which my two grandsons could have gotten hurt, my husband complained to the front office, and they wouldn't do anything about it, so we decided to check out after only being there for a couple hours, and the person in charge said that our credit card would be credited for both nights, will two months later still have not seen any credit on my credit card, so who do I contact, they do not have any email address or customer service link to get me to them, I did send them a letter in the mail explaining the whole situation but have not gotten any thing back from them. HELP!!

Where do I send an email to complain about a horrible stay at Valley West Inn, West Des Moines, IA?
1st - dispute the credit card charge with your credit card company ASAP. There is generally a grace period of 60 days to dispute charges, and the dispute must be in writing. Some credit card companies will allow you to do this online.

2nd - file a complaint with your local Better Business Bureau.

3rd - consider small claims court

4th - Go out to Yahoo.com, TripAdvisor.com, Travelocity, Expedia and let others know of your horrible experience!

Good luck!
Reply:You could call and ask to speak to the manager. Did you book it yourself or through a travel company? If you booked it through a company, you could also complain to them.

I also find it helpful to go on travel sites like expedia, orbitz, etc. and see what they say/have ratings for the place. Then I write reviews, although I try to be fair about it. That's the problem with hotels...sometimes you have no idea about the quality of the place. Good luck!
Reply:Contact the local JrJCs. They love this sort of thing and may get you to the top VP or whom ever that really owns the joint. You can also file a complaint with the local BBB. Hope this helps.
Reply:If you kept a copy of the letter showing their intent to credit your credit card, I would contact them one more time to give them a final chance to resolve your issue. I'm sure they want to avoid bad publicity.

Let them know that if you do not see the credit in a reasonable amount of time (say, two weeks or so - these things do take time) -- you will contact your local newspaper or TV station.

In our city, we have people in the newspaper and on local TV which research these things and report on their success. I'm sure the hotel doesn't want anything like this to be publicized.

However, in all fairness and to be able to proceed with a clear conscience that you did all you could, I would contact them this one more time.

You might want to send your letter registered mail as proof that your letter was received.
Reply:They have a website, but conveniently do not show an email address. Unfortunately, if you did not dispute the charge with your bank within 60 days, you can't now.

The most you could expect now is that if you continue to pursue they may give you a free night's stay there. I'm sure you don't want that.

In the future book with a hotel chain. They are more concerned with customer service than a local hotel privately owned.
Reply:You can also register a complaint with the Better business Bureau in West Des Moines, IA. Once the complaint is registered, the Inn will be notified of the complaint and what they need to do to satisfy your complaint. If they don't do anything about it, it becomes a strike against their BBB Account.

Be sure to include in your letter to the BBB, the reason for the complaint and what you want them to do to resolve it with you.

Can you look for someone by their email address?

A friend's credit card got stolen and the person used it online using him email address. How can I find out who it is?

Can you look for someone by their email address?
You cant but if its been used, you CAN get a court order to find this info. Send me the Email addy and I will find out who the server was. You can then subpoena them to produce the users name and address. You can click my email link by clicking my name
Reply:if you have the e-mail, look at the full headers and get the originating IP. enter the IP at the link below-

But that will only tell you the general location. You should certainly contact the credit card company, and the authorities immediately and let them handle the investigation.

A crime has been committed.

...And it won't be difficult to catch someone making charges on someone else card, in case thats really what you were wondering ;)
Reply:Put the address in where it says whois lookup (3rd one down on the left) here%26gt; http://www.dnsstuff.com/ then get the IP and put it in here%26gt; http://www.ip-adress.com/ it will give you their longitude and latitude and their ISP.

Question about sending thank-you cards after someones death?

My father recently passed away after a short illness. In lieu of flowers we requested donations be made to a burn unit of a hospital (my father was a retired fire fighter). The contact person I have at the burn unit told me when they receive a donation in memory of my dad, they send out a thank you card and will email me a list of people who made a donation. My question is, do I still send out a thank you card also? Thank you.

Question about sending thank-you cards after someones death?
I'm sorry for your loss, I also lost mine last AUG 27. I agree with the people who have suggested that you should. Since it was through your father that donations to the burn unit of the hospital was made possible. You can start, "In behalf of my father, I would like to thank all those who have sent donations for..." It's just an act of courtesy otherwise, you can request your contact person to also include your personal "thank you" in the card that he will be sending out. That way, it will both contain your personal thoughts and that of the staff of the hospital. I think this would be the better option. This would also help you feel that you're doing this not only for the hospital, but more importantly, for your father. I also understand what you're undergoing right now, it's easy for people to say to move on, but getting by is barely easy. Anyway, my condolences and I hope I have helped in some way.
Reply:Yes, if you have the information, then it's extremely important to show your gratitude.
Reply:I would just put a big ad in the paper thanking everyone for their thoughtfulness, and sign your Dad`s name along with yours. People really do appreciate that gesture too.
Reply:No
Reply:You don't send out those cards with pre-printed messages, but you do send out short, handwritten notes. They can be written on plain letter paper, on formal note cards, or on informal note cards. Formal notes are the ones that are very plain and in neutral colors like ivory or pale grey. Informals are the ones with pictures on the front. If you want to use informals, it might be hard to find something with a picture that isn't "all wrong" for such a solemn and somber message. You might try a catalogue tageted to firefighters; I have seen blank note cards with firefighter related pictures. (My ex-husband was a firefighter.)

There is nothing incorrect about someone else writing the notes for you. "Dear Mr. Frazier, Anita Arkin wants you to know how much she appreciates your generous donation in her father's memory. Your kindness means a lot to the family in their time of trouble. Yours truly, Adam Green" is one example of how an "on behalf of" note can be written.

This is excellent task for all those people who have been saying "Let me know if there's anything I can do." Call in those volunteers and spare yourself what would be a painful task. I'm sorry for your loss.
Reply:that would be the proper thing to do . this tells the people that made the donation that you care enough about the foundation to check and see who sent them something your Dads' memory . You have my deepest sympathy . I lost my Dad in March , and it's tough .
Reply:I think it would be extra nice for you to write a brief, personal message thanking each one for honoring your father's memory.
Reply:I suppose it would be "proper",,,,but in lieu of the fact you just lost your father...I don't think they are expecting one...
Reply:Yes, you should still send a thank-you note. The foundation sends a thank-you note specifically due to the fact that they've received a donation from the individual (regardless of whether the individual is making a donation in memory of someone who has passed away or whether the person is making a donation for other, more general, purposes). You should send a thank you card thanking those who have donated in memory of your father, and thank them for supporting your family in their time of grief.
Reply:I would follow up and send out thank you cards as well. This shows the people that the family members are aware of their thoughts and donations. I would also place a thank you article to the local paper thanking all those who donated in memory of your father. You should not list all the names in the paper, for if you accidentally missed a name that person would be hurt. Just state "TO ALL THOSE"
Reply:A thank you note is always appropriate for any act of kindness to you or your family.
Reply:i would, the hospital thanked people for their donation, you are thanking them for honoring your father's memory...

How to respond to mass "thank you" email from relative overseas?

"Thanks to all of you who sent holiday cards, well wishes and gifts, I'm sorry there will be no thank you cards, that just takes too much organization."

This email was sent to about 20 people (myself included) and included some updates on their lives and pictures. I was wondering how I should respond, and if you all think this email was rude or if I am over-reacting. I don't even know if they got my specific gift or not...

How to respond to mass "thank you" email from relative overseas?
I think that email is just as rude as not acknowledging the gifts and cards at all, admitting that "it takes too much organization" to do so. Well, you all took the time and organization to send gifts and cards!

I do NOT think you are overreacting. Why didn't the person send at least e-thank yous for specific gifts? Still not preferable but at least you would know that the gift was received. If you respond at all to this message, I'd say, "Since you have such a tough time organizing, maybe I should have gotten you an address book rather than a ____. But I would like to confirm that you at least received the gift I sent. Please let me know."

I suggest for next year, this person gets simply an email from you at the holidays, or maybe nothing!
Reply:Yep that's rude- Next year, send her an email saying "sending out gifts and cards is a royal pain so Happy Holidays!"
Reply:Sure it's rude to not acknowledge a gift. Write them and ask them if they got yours.

I can see it if they said they weren't sending holiday cards but then too the time to wish you well for the holidays and added a note. But to say there will be no thank you cards is just rude, and an explanation to that shows someone on the other side is having problems and "maybe" I'd think twice about what's going on there by reading her updates...but saying they are sorry is just a laugh and seems they are dilusional. I suspect this came from one of the younger generations. The "I only care about me" generation.

Normally when people have me on an automated list of any kind I usually write them and tell them it's not proper and advise I will be putting them on the ignore list if they don't remove me from the automation.
Reply:Don't respond, however, if you don't get a specific thank you for your gift....don't give again. They are too self-centered and arrogant for you to waste your time on.

I'm slow to say things are "rude", and I think many of us are in overdrive looking for things we consider disrespecting, but this little email takes the cake. Yes, it's rude, and you have every right to be annoyed with them.
Reply:No need to respond. Just read the email, look at the pictures and move on unless you have something really pressing to say.
Reply:just simply thank them for including you, and if they give you a gift.
Reply:Next time there is an occasion requiring you send them a gift, send a donation in their name to a charity.

You could also ask them if they received the "check" in addition to the gift....then ignore their, no...where is it?
Reply:Well, it depends. I would be a little offended, but I wouldn't take it too seriously because it's just not worth it. How to respond? If it takes too much organization to send a thank you, I wouldn't waste time responding. However you might want to reconsider sending something next year. How about an email that says, "I hope you are doing well. Sorry, there will be no cards, well wishes or gifts this year. That just takes too much organization."

How do you contact a yahoo security employee to get a yahoo email account opened by an ID thief closed down?

ID thief used my VISA card and my name to order on line products. Also had them shipped to my home. Receipt gives a yahoo email address that includes most of my name.

Police report is being filed but also want the fraudulent email address closed down.

How do you contact a yahoo security employee to get a yahoo email account opened by an ID thief closed down?
the phone number for the security department is

Reply:When you contact yahoo, you may want to mention the part of your name that is being used. That could be a big clue to catching the ID thief.

Does anyone know of an online company that allows individuals (vs. businesses) to accpet credit cards?

I have used ProPay and am looking for an alternative. I liked that they did not require me to have a business account to set it up. However I can no longer use them due to the increase in their security measures to protect themselves so they no longer allow my type of business (financial services) to be processed through their site. I loved them...anyone know any alternatives? My customers give me their credit card info over the phone and don't always have email access.

Does anyone know of an online company that allows individuals (vs. businesses) to accpet credit cards?
PayPal
Reply:There is a soulution. However, depending on what type of financial services company you have, you might find it difficult for any processor to set you up.

There is a company that will allow you to accept credit cards as an individual as long as you are a sole proprietor.

Good Luck!
Reply:Another option is a QuickBooks merchant account. They cost money, though. But PayPal is probably the best free alternative.

How can I find the address (home or business) of someone When I have (his/hers) IP address or email address?

His email address is inactive now so I can-not email him anymore. It's an old friend and I want to talk to him. I don't have his name ether. He gave me a business card (which I lost it) we exchanged few emails. Now he doesn’t have the same email.

So how and where I can find his address just by having his IP address ?

How can I find the address (home or business) of someone When I have (his/hers) IP address or email address?
Sorry - but IP addresses are almost worthless. You'd have to get sensitive history information from your friend's ISP... do you have a warrant? =)

IPs are unreliable because they're usually dynamic, and some people use proxies... You really need a name... I've been able to find friends by just using their name %26amp; google.

You exchanged emails - maybe do a search for something distinctive in the email name... like if its happyflossing84@yahoo.com then google happyflossing...?

Good luck

You can do 2D on an Email...you are limited to what the recipient can do with "their" printer.

Just received a "green" holiday card - an email with a photo attached - Give me a break!?

If this couple truly wanted to be green they would give up their 2 huge SUV's, speedboat and 3000sq ft. house.

How cheap! Send a friggin holiday card, already!

I can't stand the "green bandwagon" - if you truly want to make a change, then do it in everday life. Sending out 50 cards is not going to make you green.

Sorry, had to vent.

Just received a "green" holiday card - an email with a photo attached - Give me a break!?
You poor dear. Get over it. If somebody sent you a thosand dollars, would you complain because it wasn't two thousand? At least they're doing something. Personally, I'm happy not to clog the postal system any more than I have to and not to have to get cards that go straight to the recycling bag.
Reply:While I agree w/ you with about the SUV's, boat and huge home, I do think small changes in everyday life add up to big changes over time. It's a fact, science doesn't lie. Global warming is happening and we're destroying our planet. If you care, you'll start w/ small changes and work you way up. Try and get on the bandwagon, it won't kill you!
Reply:If they wanted to be green, they could have driven a smaller econo car instead, lived in a slightly more compact and more high tech house (to set an example) and invested in good green companies (renewable energies)

The difference is that they would in 10 years have valuable shares, a still valuable house and not invest in a car which is going to be a pile of rust in 10 years.
Reply:In retrospect.. you should send them back a lump of coal.
Reply:Go ahead and vent . I'm venting to . I did the everyday life green thing and the only person that i know of for a thousand miles if not more that has is me . Most change a light bulb and say they are green ,what kind of crap is that?

To hell with it .I'm sick of going without when nobody ells is . I'm getting in my gas guzzler and use some of the fuel and staying warm before all the hypocrites use it all up.

If i had your address i would send you a real Xmas card.

Cataloging sports cards on computer?
I would recommend going to www.beckett.com.

Beckett publishes monthly prices guides for baseball, basketball, football and hockey cards, etc. along with news as to what's going on with sports collectibles.

On their website you can set up your own account and catalog your sports cards and other related collectibles. You can set up an online file however you want to organize them (team name, player, year, brand, etc.). If you want you can even subscribe to their price guides which are updated on a monthly basis.

I have been using them for years and they are fantastic.

They even have an option if you want to sell your collectibles.
Reply:Attraction Explained: Your Social Circle

Our social circle is one of the biggest determining factors in who we meet. Going back a bit, in a 1956 study 70% of married American couples lived within 20 blocks of each other before marriage. Now admittedly that was 1956 and this is now, but the basic principle holds true - you're more likely to find success with someone closer to you than you are someone further way.

So, how do we use this to improve our chances? Simple - we expand our social circle!

1) Network, Network, Network

2) Organise a night out, invite all your friends, tell them to bring friends

3) Join a club. A sports club, a movie club, a dinner club, a sex club - whatever you fancy!

4) Don’t try and jump into an encounter or relationship with every attractive person you meet.

5) Put people in contact with each other.

Check your sent folder. If you sent it, change your password and dump the folder.

I am on a temp job and interviewed for a perm spot do I send a thank you email or buy a card?

Do I just send an email or buy a card?

I want this job BADDDD. I send her emails all the time, we work together. I thought a real card would add a personal touch. What do you think I should do%26gt;

I am on a temp job and interviewed for a perm spot do I send a thank you email or buy a card?
Personally, I think a thank you letter thanking them for the opportunity to interview as well as stating your interest in the position is much more professional. Cards are for personal aquaintances as they are much more personal and have no business in a business setting.

Just my professional opinion...

Good luck!! : )
Reply:Anything you do would be interpreted as sucking up for the job. Best to do nothing. A verbal thank you if you get the job should be sufficient.
Reply:Not a card... send a BRIEF, typewritten business letter thanking her for the job you've completed and expressing your strong interest in the permanent position. Perhaps cite one or two things about your current position that will remind them of your contributions.

(note, if a card is in order, you already have a decided inside track but it sounds as if it's not a slam dunk deal, therefore, treat the situation professionally and not personally)
Reply:I work in Human Resources, and in my opinion, a card would be best. Please don't wait too long to do it though, you usually want to follow up in one or two days of the interview. An email is fine for someone who is interviewing from outside the company, but since you are already working internally, a card adds a personal touch. It shows the hiring manager that you are thoughtful and interested in the position!

To add another personal touch, add something in the card that you had spoken about personally during the interview:

"I was surprised to hear that.. blah blah blah!"

"It was very interesting learning more about your department, I had no idea... blah blah blah"

"I never knew that you and I had 'blah blah blah' in common!"

Or.. if you spoke about something such as a book or magazine article, include a clipping or offer to lend her/him the book you read. This shows that you have good follow up skills.

Good luck in the position!

How do I report a fraudulent email pretending to be Yahoo and requesting credit card information?

For some reason Yahoo Help doesn't answer this question.

How do I report a fraudulent email pretending to be Yahoo and requesting credit card information?
If you've received an email claiming to be from Yahoo! that asks for your password or other private information, you've likely received a "phishing" email. These emails typically contain links that appear to go to a Yahoo! site but actually link to a fake, or "spoofed" Yahoo site.

If you are uncertain about any "official" email you've received, do not click on any links in the email. The safest way to visit a website is to type the site's address directly in the address bar of your web browser.

No Yahoo! employee will ever ask you for your password or personal information in an unsolicited phone call or email message. Learn how to report a phishing email to Yahoo! here. To learn more about phishing, please visit the Yahoo! Security Center.

You need to call Tmobile and make sure you have the proper features and are provisioned correctly within their network. If they didn't activate you and don't know you're using a Treo now, you may not have all the codes and programming necessary on the network end to get that sucker online.

How do you email a folder of pictures on a microsoft computer?

i downloaded my pictures from my camara using a memory card and i can't figure out how to take a file from those pictures and email them- please help.

How do you email a folder of pictures on a microsoft computer?
Put all the pictures you want into 1 folder. Then use either winzip or Winrar, compression utilities. To shrink it. Then go to your yahoo mail. and attach the .zip, or .rar file to the email.

Google winzip and winrar to get them. I don't know the exact web addresses unfortunately.

Reply:download the pics from the card to your computer (my documents/pictures)...right click on the pic you want to send, choose "send to" then "mail recipient" or

open oyur email program, start a new email, choose attach, the comp will prompt you on what to attach, find the pics where ever you downlaoded them to on your computer, when you find them, CTRL+Click on the ones you want, choose ok/attach.... or just google for instrucitons if these don;t make any sense...
Reply:Right button of mouse on the folder, send to zip then attach the zipped folder to your email.
Reply:On Windows XP Pro, you can right click the folder you have the images in, and select Send To %26gt; Compressed (zipped) Folder. Then email that.
Reply:i don't know.
Reply:when your writing your email, go to attatch document. it should be somewere written or as a icon.

then you just find each file, and click brows and then open, and find all the pics that way and attatch them. do about 5 at a time because some have a limmit on the total size you can send.
Reply:zip the pics and send them

use 7zip .. it supports all formats and is free.

How do I report an unwanted email with a virus to Yahoo!?

At times I receive emails from people whom have heard me speak and whom have picked up my card. But lately I've been getting emails from sites that are solcitating for sexually oriented "services". I do not want this "adult" material coming to me. In fact, though I report this as spam to Yahoo! I constantly get email from a site with a trumped up name and "Hi" in the subject. How can I stop this? I know it originates from the same source because the subject topic is always the same. Now, I'm getting even more email; today I received one with an attachment that had a virus. Please advise me how I can know if the email comes from a site that is marketing sex and not someone who has received my card and wants to communicate with me. Thank you.

I don't have a credit card. How can I verify my age for my child yahoo email registration?

Creating a yahoo account doesn't cost any money. And what does that have to do with age verification, anyway?

I don't have a credit card. How can I verify my age for my child yahoo email registration?
If you don't have a credit card and can't get one because you are under age, you'll have to get an adult to set up an account for you. Here is a page with some information: http://www.quickonlinetips.com/archives/...

Reply:I dont think you can do that... I mean you can change it to mpeg format but I dont think it will make much difference... Try this software any way.. its called CUCUSOFT... you can download the trial version of it off internet... This time check the settings on the camera for a lesser file size options....

all the best...
Reply:there are many free programs out there that can convert almost any file to almost anything you want. try download.com and search for video file converter

the better ones will let you choose the quality, frame rate, and other things that will make it a smaller file size

OR

you could try to zip the file using WinZip, I dont think it will go down to 2 mb though
Reply:Typically an mpeg is larger than an avi file, but it would depend on how much compression is used I guess. But an avi is already compressed. Other formats I would consider are .wmv (Windows Media) or .mov (Quicktime). You can search for conversion tools here:

I want to have my business card as my email signature for yahoo mail. Does anyone know how to do that?

Also if anyone knows how to do that for hotmail as well?

Thanks!

I want to have my business card as my email signature for yahoo mail. Does anyone know how to do that?
How to add or change a signature.

The usual (and useful) way to sign emails is with your name and some contact info (title, phone numbers). You could also add a saying like “My friend talked on, confident that he would soon find something to say”—Mason Cooley. (*Shrug*—we found that one on the web.)

Add any kind of signature you like!

Here’s how:

Click Options in the upper-right corner of your Mail page.

Under “Management”, click Signature.

Before you start typing, choose if you want to have your signature appear in plain text or in color and graphics. Above the text area, next to the word “Editor:”, click either Plain or Color and Graphics. With the toolbar that appears when you select color and graphics, you can choose which font you’d like to use and how you’d like to format and color it.

Now, add or change your signature by typing in the text area.

Check "Add signature to all outgoing messages" for your signature to appear on the emails you send. Anytime you’d rather not use the signature, return to this page and un-check “Add signature...” to turn it off.

Remember to click Save when you're done. This puts your new signature into effect.

What are some online forms that I can fill out? eg. email registration?

What are some online forms that I can fill out? eg. email registration?
You didn't say what grade level you teach, so these might be too difficult. You could try driver's license applications, job applications, %26amp; library book request forms.

Is sending a prank email committing identity theft?

My friend and I sent an email to another kid, saying that they failed 8th grade. My friend set it up so that it looked like it was from the school. Now somehow that kid that we sent it to found out and is saying I broke the law. I looked it up, and it could be considered identity theft, but that is more stealing credit card numbers, etc. I am a minor. What do you think?

Is sending a prank email committing identity theft?
I think you pulled a stupid prank and deserve some punishment.
Reply:Based on the info you provided, this is not identity theft.
Reply:I think you need to be more careful, the greatest lesson you learn in is: Don't get caught.
Reply:That could be considered identity theft. Identity theft is ANYTIME you are pretending to someone else. You could be in some serious trouble.
Reply:you are a loser, get a life, i wish you had to do jail time, but the other inmates would not be able to handle your constant crying
Reply:Thinking...its to late for you to be asking this question! Maybe others will learn from your moronic mistake!
Reply:it's called SPAM...
Reply:your not gonna get in that much trouble for that if any

:)
Reply:If he decides to tell, you may get suspended possibly expelled. You may have to apologize before this blows up and gets out hand. The way everyone sues everyone else these days, it probably was not a great idea. Man up and say sorry and hopefully it ends there, assuming that you and the other kid are not enemies.

There maybe some kind of promotion at online stores for your needs. For example, at http://www.pandasim.com

You buy a new phone or rent a phone, you will get a free prepaid sim card.
Reply:You can't get them free. Just go to a T-Mobile store. Who knows...they may decide to give you a free sim if you buy minutes.

How do you add a contact to a list if they don't have an email?

I am trying to create a list so I can print the list and send christmas cards from it. Some of my contacts (grandparents or people who dont use email) don't have email. I can't figure out a way to add these into a list? Any ideas?

How do you add a contact to a list if they don't have an email?
You shouldn't need an email address to add them to your list. Is the "Add Contact" form requiring you to have an email address for them? It doesn't require emails for my contacts.

Maybe you can describe more what you're doing to enter these contacts.
Reply:Hello asker,

i figured out what you asked and you're right, in the new beta you can't add a contact w/o email. But you can do this in the old Address Book. You'll find a "Switch Back" link on top of yahoo mail page and then add those contacts to a list without requiring email address.

Good luck! Report Abuse

do you have a list already made... import and export is a standard for e-mail programs!

What Email can i use to register with Ebay so i wont have to use a Credit card?

I heard AIM/AOL Mail goes through but their mail sucks and i cant even check it without freezing. So is there other emails i can use? Helpful answers only please.

What Email can i use to register with Ebay so i wont have to use a Credit card?
There is no email that you can use to register with eBay so you won't have to use a credit card. You could sign up without one- but then once you start to list- they slap you with the credit card request form for their protection and for the buyer's protection.

Ask your bank for one to use as a "placeholder" and register it- YOUR paypal account if you create one will need a credit card number too to verify who you are- just use the same credit card then never use the card.

Good luck.

Good luck.
Reply:Once you list anything with e-bay - a credit card is required. Also if they are requiring a credit card - it is for protection for everyone. When someone bids on something I have listed, it's nice to know that if they don't pay, I can file a complaint and e-bay "knows where they live" via credit card or bank. It's for everyone's protection and stops bogus bids.

What other way beside a credit card can I verified my age on the email registration form?

I am trying to set up an account for my son and I have to verified that I am adult but I don't want to put my credit card info. on the net..... I want to know of any alternative to doing the credit card.

What other way beside a credit card can I verified my age on the email registration form?
Unfortunately, the only method that Yahoo! currently uses to verify consent is a valid major credit card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, or Discover). Yahoo! also accepts debit cards with a Visa or Mastercard logo.

Yahoo! verifies your credit card information with your bank. When the verification is approved, you can create a Family Account.

Suspicious greeting card email?

I just got a greeting card notification email from recipient 'tgq' and clicked on the link, which was http://jonrayhomes.com/april28-71428.htm... (dont go there though!!!). I then got a page with a happy birthday message (its not my bday) and a picture of some penguins. Has anyone else had this? Im worried this is a worm and that a script may have run when I visited the site. I tried to close the browser straight away and had trouble, had to use Ctrl Alt Delete in the end.

The subject of the email was "Reminder Online Greeting Card Waiting For You"

Ive since found out one of my friends had the same email a week ago, and also visited the site.
